Memphis, Tenn. (June 8, 2021) Mays & Schnapp Neurospine and Pain recently received accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) for its Adult Outpatient Interdisciplinary Pain Rehabilitation Program (IPRP). Mays & Schnapp has been continually certified for over 25 years and has the only CARF-accredited program in the Mid-South.

We are committed to providing our patients with the most effective treatment,” said Eric Schnapp, CEO, Mays & Schnapp Neurospine and Pain. “Our Interdisciplinary Pain Rehabilitation Program provides a unique program that focuses on collaboration across departments to relieve pain, restore function, and return patients to living their lives.”

Mays & Schnapp’s IPRP focuses on a team approach with physical therapists and physicians working closely together to create individualized treatment plans to meet each patient’s unique needs. The program consists of intensive physical therapy, medication review, interventional pain management, psychological therapy, weekly meetings with the IPRP team and a customized program that may last several hours a day for several weeks.

Mays & Schnapp’s IPRP outcomes from 2018-2020 show that one month after completing the program:

·         75% of participants reported taking/resuming an active role outside the home.

·         100% reported lower levels of pain.

·         100% reported spending less money for healthcare resources for pain.

CARF accreditation represents the highest level of certification that can be given to any organization. To achieve accreditation, Mays & Schnapp completed and in-depth review and met rigorous CARF guidelines for service and quality.

CARF is an independent, nonprofit accrediting body whose mission is to promote the quality, value, and optimal outcomes of services through a consultative accreditation process and continuous improvement services that center on enhancing the lives of the persons served. Founded in 1966 as the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities, and now known as CARF International, the accrediting body establishes consumer-focused standards to help organizations measure and improve the quality of their programs and services.
