Our Services
At Mays & Schnapp Neurospine & Pain, we believe the most effective treatment to provide optimal pain relief incorporates therapies that work together.
Joint Injections
A steroid injection into an inflamed joint can temporarily relieve pain.
Clinical Therapy
Each patient is evaluated in our clinic to regularly evaluate and adjust therapies to customize care.
Radiofrequency Ablation
Radiofrequency Ablation uses a small electrical current to heat up an area of nerve tissue which stops the nerves from sending pain signals to the brain.
Epidurals
Epidurals are steroid injections that offer a direct way to deliver pain medication to inflamed spinal nerves to help decrease pain.
Trigger Point Injections
Trigger points are painful “knots” in your muscles that develop when a muscle can’t relax. Injecting a small amount of anesthetic or steroid into the trigger point can help alleviate the pain.
Facet Injections
A facet injection is a steroid or anesthetic injection into the facet joints of the spine. These small joints are at each segment of the spine and provide stability and help guide motion.
Psychological Therapy
When needed, psychologists counsel patients to address the challenging thoughts and feelings that chronic pain may create, and teach a variety of coping skills to help patients face these challenges.
Spinal Cord Stimulator
A spinal cord stimulator is a small device, similar to a pacemaker, that is surgically implanted. It sends mild electrical signals to the spinal cord to overcome or interrupt pain signals and provide pain relief.
Peripheral Nerve Stimulator
We are the only clinic in the Mid-South to use the first and only FDA approved temporary, non-surgical peripheral nerve stimulator. This temporary device sends tiny electrical pulses to a peripheral nerve to reprogram the input of pain into the brain and spinal cord which reduces the sensation of pain. After the wire is removed, patients continue to feel less pain or no pain at all.
Physical Therapy
We offer a fully staffed physical therapy department. Services may include evaluation, manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, electronic stimulation, and more. We are proud to have a Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facility (CARF) certified Interdisciplinary Pain Rehabilitation Outpatient Program. This accreditation represents the quality of our comprehensive treatment philosophy.
