For All Surgery Center Patients

  • A driver is required for anyone receiving sedation during his or her procedure.
  • If you are diabetic, your blood sugar will be checked during triage and must be below 180. If your blood sugar is 200 or greater prior to leaving for your appointment you should reschedule your appointment.
  • You should take your blood pressure and/or heart medications as prescribed. A blood pressure greater than 180/90 may result in a cancelled block
  • If you are currently being treated for an infection please contact the clinic and speak with a nurse prior to arrival.

If you have not stopped the appropriate medications, please contact us at (901) 747-0040 to reschedule your block.

For Nerve Block Patients Who Take Blood Thinners

You will need to check with your doctor who is prescribing the blood thinner you take to see if it is safe for you to go off of it for the time listed below BEFORE your block and AFTER your block.

You may also refer to the blood thinner letter you were given at your appointment when the nerve block was scheduled.

Do not stop the medication until you have discussed this with and received clearance to do so from your prescribing physician.
