World Class Interdisciplinary
Pain Rehabilitation Program

Right here in the Mid-South.

We are proud to operate the only CARF-accredited Adult Outpatient Interdisciplinary Pain Rehabilitation Program (IPRP) in the Mid-South. Mays & Schnapp has continuously earned this recognition for more than 20 years.

Our program focuses on a team approach with physical therapists and physicians working closely together to create an individualized treatment plan to meet our patients’ unique needs.

Treatment includes:

  • Intensive physical therapy including manual therapy

  • Medication review

  • Interventional pain management

  • Psychological Therapy

  • Weekly meetings with the IPRP team, which includes the patient, physician, and physical therapist, to review and tweak your individualized plan

  • Program is customized for each patient

Most patients who are referred to an interdisciplinary pain rehabilitation program are diagnosed with:

  • Chronic Regional Pain Syndrome - chronic pain in the arm or leg from injury, surgery, stroke, or heart attack

  • Spondylosis - age-related wear and tear of the spinal disks causing back pain

  • Neuropathy - damage to the nerves that often cause weakness, numbness, and pain

About CARF

CARF accreditation represents the highest level of certification that can be given to any organization.

To achieve accreditation, Mays & Schnapp completed an in-depth review and met rigorous CARF guidelines regarding service and quality.

CARF GOALS

  1.  Continue to provide outstanding care to patients with chronic pain.

  2. Enhance current services and methods for continued growth.

  3. Implement marketing and branding campaigns to educate the primary care community on chronic pain.

  4. Expand IPRP program while overcoming the current obstacles, such as reimbursement for the program and lack of adequate coverage for psychological services.

  5. Promote effective management of financial activities.
